Ruth Bernhard

An American photographer of the 20th century, Ruth Bernhard was a master at still life photography. Born in Germany, Berhard moved to New York in 1927. She would become known as one of the greats in California, when she joined forces with Group f/64; a photo club with other masters like Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and Dorothea Lange, who shared similar styles in photography. Bernhard photographed strictly in black and white. She also lived to be 101 years old, passing away in 2006.
