Eugene Atget

Known as the Father of Modern Photography. Atget was an architechure and landscape photographer, and made most of his living by selling his prints to local parisean artists as reference documents to paint with. As he became better established, Atget spent the rest of his career documenting the old streets of Paris in efforts to archive it's beauty in midst of modernization. Atget would not live to see his growing status as a pioneer in photography. 1857-1927
